Best place to get new website hosted on which won’t cost much?

I work for a small travel company based in the UK. Our holidays are based in France and almost all of our customers are UK people who travel to France to stay in our accommodations. We have a website and the website is all in English since 99.9% of our customers are from the UK.

However, due to the effects of Covid, it's almost impossible for us to sell our holidays as British people won't travel to France.

So we've come up with a plan to target French people to go on holiday with us rather than British people since the French won't need to quarantine. This plan is just for this Winter only…. we will only be targetting French people for this Winter (November 2020 to April 2021).

In order to target French people, we will create a very simple website (I'll use WordPress for this), buy a domain and ensure the domain is ".fr" for French people, and then get the website hosted. The website will be written in French.

Once we have this, we will do some Google Ads so when people search keywords, our new website will appear.

We are really trying to keep our costs down as Covid has affected us badly so all of this will be done cheaply. I can't stress the "low cost" part enough. It is also hard to anticipate how many visitors will visit the website as it is all very unknown. We anticipate that the website will just serve us for this Winter so from November 2020 to April 2021 so it is a very short term project.

I should also mention that I'm ok with computer but I'm by no means a programmer or HTML guru. I work in marketing so I can do some basic stuff but a lot of this is new to me and I'm trying to pick it all up as I go along.

Where would be a good low cost place to host this very basic website?

When Peter Thiel talks about the importance of distribution for startups in Zero to One is he actually referring to the place through which a startup provides its product or a startup’s sales/customer acquisition strategy?

He says: “Distribution is something of a catchall term. It essentially refers to how you get a product out to consumers. More generally, it can refer to how you spread the message about your company. (…) But for whatever reason, people do not get distribution. They tend to overlook it. It is the single topic whose importance people understand least. Even if you have an incredibly fantastic product, you still have to get it out to people.”

Where is the best place to find a Full Stack Partner in my startup?

I am a jack of all trades, I do marketing, coding, graphics, copy, and sales. However I want to launch in the next month or so.

The platform already has a couple million in development, but it needs UI/UX and misc touch-ups as well as someone to keep things running smoothly when we are getting clients.

  1. Is there a place for these types that want to join company, that I can post in?
  2. What is a good stake to offer to someone? Like do I say after x many months, or x many clients, or x many years you get x amount of equity?

Best place to find a Technical Co-Founder for my new startup?

I'm just about done with my site and thought it might be a good idea to find a Technical Co-Founder. Any ideas or suggestions on where to find one? My startup is an E-Learning site and is around the DevOps space. While working a full time job I'm finding it very difficult to get everything done as quickly as I want to go Live. I have to finish the website, do all the learning content, do all the marketing, manage everything and I need help. I don't have anything to offer the co-founder except a percentage of the business. My startup is unique and targets a specific audience.

Thank you!

What’s the best place to register a business?

Here's what I'm looking for:

  1. Registering a business entity for all my side projects
  2. Not for a VC scale startup (will never seek investment for this entity)
  3. Avoid as many taxes, legal fees, maintenance fees, bank fees as possible
  4. It should be registrable and manageable completely online
  5. Easy future possibility of liquidation/payouts to myself
  6. It should not be in unfavorable/politically volatile/privacy unfriendly countries or subject to bullying by big 4, US or any other big corporations.

So, I want this to be the entity where I place all the funds from my side-projects.

I'm from India and have an Indian business registered, but it comes with the following drawbacks:

  • High international payment processing fees
  • High forex charges charged by banks and stripe
  • ~18% tax when selling to customers in India
  • Monthly hassle of filing tax returns

Any ideas? I'm leaning towards Singapore or Cayman islands (mostly due to favorable tax/fund remittance structures).

Hardware startups, rent or buy a place to build a manufacturing unit?

Is it more logical to rent a piece of land when you're at the early stage of funding rather than buying it? If you're building a manufacturing unit? Once you get the seed funding, should you buy the plot and then build a factory on it or is it better to rent(lease) for some period of time
