A marketplace to match excess food supplies with willing buyers.

From what I gather, right now due to the Covid crisis, there is a lot of food currently going to waste because of a lack of demand due to restaurants being shut down. Food suppliers basically have to throw away all of this excess supply and they can't donate all of it as the cost of picking it from the field/hauling it to food banks is too much. What if we create a marketplace where buyers can buy bulk quantities for discount rates…maybe even meet at pickup spots to decrease total costs? It would be a win for both sides as the suppliers can get some money from the goods that was about to go to waste and the buyers get a good deal. What do you think?

As more of the global workforce continues to work from home in a bid to self-isolate/quarantine, many companies and employers have had to adapt to managing a remote workforce.   • 86% say it reduces stress

  • 21% would give up some of their vacation time in exchange for flexible working options
  • Companies that allow remote work have 25% lower staff turnover than companies that don’t

The growth of this trend has been fuelled by technology, including the rapid increase of mobile tech, communication and project management platforms. The rapid growth of Wi-Fi hotspots is likely to hit 432.5 million globally this year, and there will be 1.2 billion 5G connections globally by 2025, covering one-third of the world’s population.

For many workers, increased connectivity in personal and work lives has made the transition into remote working a relatively easy one. By streamlining work processes in this way, the team can be more professional, productive and efficient in the long run.

Regardless of times of uncertainty, having a remote-working team can help reduce the stress of members of staff who want to self-isolate, which will also reduce the chance of in-office infection. However, along with the benefits, there are some challenges to managing remote teams:

Let’s say I run a cashflow negative start up that is able over the course of 3 years and 3 rounds, raise 3M dollars at a 5M valuation. After that the VC market dried up and the company eventually runs out of money, not able to raise any further. The founder barely took a salary during this time.
