Ethics Question on startup?

Entering graduate school was my most cherished dream since school graduation. I have never been a good writer, but I don't know how did I manage to enter and graduate from college. No more than a fluke, I think. Currently, I'm a master's student and waiting for the final year. Do you think I'm waiting for it because of the ambitions to be realized? Well, you're deeply mistaken. Everything is much easier: I'm just afraid of it and nothing more. To be true, graduation isn't the key event scaring me. I'm worried about my writing. My school requires students to submit theses to be awarded a diploma. It's a kind of challenge for many of us, who feel it difficult to tackle even a 500-word essay. As you probably understand, I belong to this 'majority'. So, recently I decided to buy thesis online : it's the only available way for me to finish these studies and get what I deserve. The number of companies providing academic assistance, and thesis writing, in particular, is really huge. Finding the right one took a few weeks for me. I think it's a too huge amount of time for the 21st century, but let's avoid details. BestCustomWriting was my final choice, and it turned out to be the best one. I didn't get the final paper yet, but the first several parts look really cool. The writer managed to comply with the topic, use proper structure, formatting, and credible sources of information. I'm surprised to see that my thesis will even contain some findings, although no research has been done by me/my writer. I would never be able to create and submit the dissertation I'll submit using expert help. And the most surprising thing is pricing. I thought ordering a thesis would cost me a fortune, but it turned out that I was wrong.

I had an idea about 6 months ago. Shared with some of my friends. Months later I found a lead for a job. They said they would need an NDA however did not provide one (no NDA signed)

Once I spoke with them (no NDA) they had an idea that was very similar to my original idea. This spun up my excitement about it. I created about 80% of the MVP. Had a meeting with them to show progress and realized they are not going to pay. They are not technical (its a technical item) I am the tech guy. Did the development, did the prototype. Its almost ready to go live.

I don't think they understood the cost it would be and now I think they will stall out.

Ethically if I proceed am I in the wrong? I know legally (US) I am ok. The idea isn't super unique I am just the hustler that implemented it. I just saw last night they were saying we don't want to take any money out as it grows but they have put nothing in.

I guess I am conflicted in the US.

TLDR;

No NDA, heard idea from person. I had very similar idea. Rushed and built idea, they are squishy on my rate to pay me for work. Is it a rat bastard thing for me to just move forward on it without them.

Tech domain knowledge for a complete newbie

Need some recommendations on where to start learning and getting my foot wet in the world of tech. Ideally, the tech knowledge to acquire should allow me to co-found a tech company with my tech co-founder. I am not looking to be an expert in computer science but just to have good knowledge in order to support my contribution to my business.

About me: I am an accounting and finance professional with 8 years of studying and working experience. I know little about tech and am extremely confused about things like API, AI, ML, IoT and how all of them interact with each other. Will very much appreciate if there are good learning resources to direct me to. Thanks!
